A&W is the oldest restaurant chain in America and dates back to 1919. In June 2019, A&W became the first franchise restaurant chain to turn 100. It is a fast-food restaurant that evolved into a franchise in 1926. The company today has locations in the United States and some Southeast Asian countries, serving a menu of hamburgers, French fries, and hot dogs.
